Competitions

This page is about competitions and how they have become a big part of cheerleading. A competition squad can put in hundreds of hours, tons of effort and invest lots of hard-earned money in competing. The girls have to get all dazzled up, they have to do their hair, do their make-up, and they have to use tons of sparkles!

One important thing about competitions is the opening pose that shows the audience and judges their unique and creative skills with effects. Like in the picture below they have all the lights out and purple and pink fog around them.

When you are on the floor or stage dancing it is your turn to show the judges and audience your moves and your skills and abilities. You have to make sure you always smile, your moves are sharp, and you don't get nervous or that will cause you to mess up.

Hair is one thing that tons of people notice when girls are competing. The usual do is a high pony tail with tons of curls like the one below on the left.

At the end of the competition if you won you would be rewarded with a trophy or ribbons to show that u did a great job at the competition.
