| On this page you will find out about what the players do in the positions that they are given. There are many positions in baseball. On this page you will learn about all of them and what they are specifically designed for. | |
| On the picture to the left you will see a catcher. The catcher is the major part of the baseball game. If you don't have a catcher there would be no stealing, pitching, batting, and no game overall. | ![]() |

On the picture to the right you will see a pitcher. The pitcher's job is to throw the ball over the plate. If he gets it over the plate then it is a strike. If it is outside or away from the plate then he gets a ball. The pitcher is also an important part of the game. If you didn't have a pitcher there would be no baseball. |
| On the picture to the right is a picture of the first basemen. The first basemen's job is to guard the first base. He must catch the balls thrown to him. If he doesn't catch them that that would be an error. That could mean that the batter could get on the base or go to second base. When someone is on first base it is his job to try and pick him off with the pitcher. The pitcher will throw it over to him and he must catch it and tag the runner out. | ![]() |

On the left there is a picture of a second basemen. The second basemen is in charge of second base along with the shortstop. The second basemen backs up the play when a runner steals. The second basemen is very important. |

On the left you will see a picture of a third basemen. The third basemen is in charge of third base. When a runner steals he covers the base and trys to get the runner out. The third basemen is also important. |
| On the right you will see a picture of a right fielder. The right fielder is in charge of right field. He is in charge of chasing balls down, backing up the throw to third base, and catching fly balls. | |

On the left you will see a picture of a center fielder. The center fielder is a very important part of the game. He has to help backup the throw to second base. He is also in charge of catching fly balls, chasing ground balls, and throwing the ball in. |
| On the right you will se a picture of a left fielder. The left fielders job is just like the right fielders. The only difference is that the left fielder has to back up the throw to first base. He has to chase ground balls, and catching fly balls. | |
