Nirvana was one of the most popular grunge bands in the 1980's-1990's. Nirvana consisted of three members. Krist Novoselic; the bass guitarist, David Grohl; the drummer, and probably the most well known grunge musician...Kurt Cobain. Noone except Krist knows how the band ever really started but what we do know is that Krist sent Kurt a demo tape for a band. Kurt thought it was a joke and through it in the back of his room and didnt actually listen to it until almost a year later. Kurt and Krist formed Nirvana and adventually found Sean, but got kicked out of the band so they found drummer David Grohl.

During the bands 7-8 years of playing together, they had many hit songs, such as "Come As You Are", "You Know Your Right", and the biggest grunge song ever "Smells Like Teen Spirit". The band ended tragically when Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. Although there are still many questions unanswered and many people think he did not committe suicide, that is what most people think what happened.
