Sammy Sosa

Sammy Sosa plays for the Chicago Cubes.  He is the right fielder.  This year he got suspended for a while because, he had cork in his bat.  That means that he had extra power to hit the ball further.  In the year of 2000 he hit 66 homeruns for the season.  During the 2000 season he played for the Chicago Cubs.

Mark McGuire

In the year 2000 Mark McGuire hit 70 homeruns.  He played for the St. Louis Cardinals.  He has retired now and has a son.  

Roberto Clemente

Roberto Clemente was a Pittsburgh in the 1970s'.  He died in a plane crash going to his home country to deliver some food. He was known to be one of the best black baseball players in history.

Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth played for the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.  After he left the Red Sox there had been a curse on them because they haven't won a world series sense.  They call it the Curse of the Bambino. 

Jackie Robinson

Jackie Robinson played for the Brooklyn Dodgers.  He made the number one most intense player over many other people.  He was number 44.

Joe DiMaggio

Joe Dimaggio played for the New York Yankees in 1936.  He played center field.  He had 10 penants and 9 World Series championships in an incredible 13-season career by 3 years of military service.

Mickey Mantle

He played for the New York Yankees.  He played in the 1950's.  He retired form a 20 year career playing baseball.  He had 12 American League pennants and 7 World Series championships over a 14 year span.

Greg Maddox

Greg Maddox playes for the Atlanta Braves.  He also played for the Chicago Cubs.  He is an outstanding pitcher.  He is number 31.
