No one really knows where soccer came from.  But the know that accent Greek included a ball in some military training exercise. The idea was adopted and adapted by the Romans, who spread it through their empire.  The principle always been the same, by two teams trying to force the ball to their opponents base by kicking or throwing it.  Along time ago they use to call soccer football.  Some countries still do up to this day.

Soccer became popular in schools.  Other schools soon followed by organizing their own soccer rules.  And in hardly any time soccer became a major sport at schools and through out the world.  But each school has different rules when they play soccer.

World Cup was already underway, but has now  reached the point where it is the largest spectator event in the world.  Then in mid-1950s European club soccer was started, followed within a few years by European Nation's Cup started in 1960.  League and cup competitions now exist in nearly all countries which play soccer in an organized basis.
