Midfield Midfield men cover the entire field and play both offense and defense. They often are the players that clear the ball from defense to offense. A midfielder needs good stick work including catching, throwing, and scooping. Each team has three midfielders on the field at a time. The midfielders are often rotated because it can be a very tiring position. |

Attack The attack mans main responsibility is to score goals. Attack is generally restricted to playing offense. An attack man needs excellent stick handling with both hands and must have quick feet to maneuver around the goal. Each team has three attack men on the field at a time. |

Defense The defense mans responsibility is to defend the goal. The defense men generally restrict their play to the defensive end of the field. A good defense man should be able to quickly react to game situations. They need good agility and need to be aggressive. Great stick work isn't necessary. Each team has three defense players on the field. |

Goal It is the goalies responsibility to protect the goal and the stop the opposing team from scoring. A good goalie leads the defense by reading the situation and directing the defense men to react. A goalie should have excellent hand-eye coordination and a strong voice. Also they should be confident, agile, and quick. Each team has one goalie during play. |
