The Horseshoe Falls are separated from the American Falls by the Goat Island.  The Horseshoe Falls is located inside the Canadian border, so some people refer to the Horseshoe Falls as the Canadian Falls.  The Horseshoe Falls are so immense that it makes the American Falls look like nothing but a stream.

The Horseshoe Falls are so enormous that out of  all the water that pours down the entire Niagara Falls the Horseshoe Falls contains ninety percent of it.  It is 173 feet high  and 2,200 feet long.  The water surges over the falls at twenty miles per hour and hits with boulder crushing power on the rocks below.

In a single second the Horseshoe Falls pour down 600,000 gallons from its enormous tip.  The surface of the Niagara River is atop of these falls continually feeds these falls with an unimaginable amount of water.  The currents are so strong at the top of the falls that it is illegal to get anywhere near the falls because it is so dangerous.

The pounding force that the Horseshoe Falls constantly bash the ground below with is no joke.  However, some people have attempted to go off of the actual falls itself.  In individually made capsules some people have fallen off of the falls, however few have survived.  Only two people have ever fallen off of the falls without protection and lived, and one was only a child that was swept down river.

A dark approaches the Niagara Falls, a real world of wonder begins.  Lights descend upon the Horseshoe Falls illuminating the water that endlessly pours over the top.  People are amazed by the incredible wonder of this experience, and it is one of the major tourist attractions for the falls.  Visitors can experience this event at the falls happening every night.

The repetitive pounding of the Horseshoe Falls against the ground below creates a perpetual mist that lingers in front of the Falls.  The mist makes beautiful rainbows off of the sunlight.  Another main tourist attraction is the Maid of the Mist.  It is a special boat that takes tourists right up to the front of the falls, and after having had an adventurous experience, they walk away drenched in water.

It is no doubt that whenever you visit the Niagara Falls it is a visit to remember.  Ever since the the year 1721 when these falls were first recognized as a horseshoe shape it has been valued as a beautiful sight.  This would definitely be a place that you would never forget.
