The American Falls are separated from the Horseshoe Falls by the Goat Island. Many stunts have been performed in the Niagara falls, however none at all have been off of the American Falls. The rocky terrain at the bottom makes it much too dangerous to do stunts. The American Falls are located entirely in the United States, and none of it is located in Canada, however in a few thousand years it may erode into Canada.
As darkness looms upon the beautiful Niagara Falls, lights of all kinds emitting from nearby towers give the Niagara Falls a wonderful look. The water on the falls are literally lit up by the lights in bright beauty and splendor. These lights that shine upon the Niagara Falls each night are one of the biggest tourist attractions that the Niagara Falls presents to its visitors.
There are actually two parts to the American Falls. The main, larger part that is most recognized is simply called the American Falls. Directly aside to this large section is a small strand of water coming down known as the Bridal Veil, or Luna Falls. It is 56 meters in width and is separated from the main part of the American Falls by a small strip of land known as Luna island.
While on the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls, tourists can enjoy a beautiful view of the Niagara Falls. Railing with intricate decorations line the cliff side with incredible decorations and flowers all around making it a spectacular picture taking spot. Viewing the falls from this angle is quite a pleasure. This could be an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Niagara Falls with family and friends.
The total width of the entire American Falls is 1,100 feet, or 326 meters. The height of the American Falls is 182 feet, or 56 meters. The depth of the water at the crest of the falls is only two feet deep. In fact, the American Falls is so enormous that 150,000 gallons of water flow over it every single second. One thing is for sure, the American Falls is a wonder to behold.
