Just like humans, horses have to eat too.  As you see by the pictures this page will let you know some important and healthy foods for horses.

Quick Fact: Horses should be fed two times a day.
This food is commercial grain mix.  This is a balanced feed of oats, barley, and maize.

Here we have oats.  Oats are the principal source of energy, fat, starch, and protein.

This picture is of corn.  Corn is high in energy but lacks protein.  It can be mixed with other grains.

This is chaff.  Chaff is hay and oat straw.

This picutre is of barley.  Barley is less heating than oats.  When barley is boiled it's good for conditioner.

Here we have linseed.  Linseed is high in protein and is an excellent conditioner.  Always boil linseed before giving it to horses.

Here you see fruits and roots.  This contains valuable minerals and vitamins.  Make sure you slice the carrots lengthwise to prevent choking.

This is a salt lick.  This has sodium chloride that is not found much in plant growth.
