Killer whales have a beautiful appearance. They are covered with bright patches of black and white. Because a killer whale is a mammal, they have a blowhole for breathing. Unlike most mammals, they don't have fur. They have 4 fins. The one on it's head is called the dorsal fin. They have 1 fin on each side of them. Their tales are made up of two halves called flukes. With these, killer whales can go up to 28 miles per hour. |
| Male Killer whales are about 32 feet long. He can weigh up to 9 tons. Females are about 28 feet long and she can weigh up to 4.5 tons. |  |
