There are several types of primates. They are gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, and human.

Gorillas grow five feet and 300 pounds.  They live in small groups. When a male gets to be about 12 years old he gets silver back hairs.  Now he can be the leader of the group.
Gorillas are vegetarians.  They only eat plants.  One of their favorite treats is wild celery. They also wear big leaves on their head for decoration.
Chimpanzees mostly live in the tropical rain forests of Zaire, Africa. They weigh about 100 pounds.  Of all apes, chimps are most like humans behavior.  Since they use the most tools.
All chimps from the lowland forests to grasslands of middle Africa are endangered from human activities.  Chimps are hunted for food and sport and are trapped for medical research. Japan, Europe and the United States the most captive chimps. Even though it is illegal.
The orangutan is the only tree dwelling ape. Females weigh about ninety pounds and males weigh 200 pounds.
