Around 1900, the Somali was developed in the United Kingdom.
Somali kittens are usually born in litters of three or four and don't reach their full size until they're eighteen months (1 1/2 years) old.

This breed of cat comes in a wide variety of colors, but their eyes are always either green or gold.

These cats are very playful and are good with other pets and children.

Somalis have soft, fine, long hair.  A weekly brushing is usually recommended.

This breed is sometimes described as a small fox.  They have big, bushy tails, masked faces, and large ears.
The Somali is a very friendly cat and they have quiet, soft voices.
