Wearing shin guards is like wearing protection. Shin guards protect you so you don't get hurt in the shins. They help you because someone might kick you on accident and that would really hurt. They are there to make sure that you are safe. You wear soccer socks over your shin guards to cover them up. It helps to wear your socks over your shin guards to tell what team your on when your on the team. They also protect you from getting kicked by the other teams cleats. Soccer can be dangerous when you don't wear your shin guards because you can get hurt.
You cannot play soccer without a soccer ball. The soccer ball is all about the game. In the older age groups they use a size 5 soccer ball. The size 5 soccer ball is the largest soccer ball size. Players that are 12 and older use the size 5 soccer ball.
The jersey represents what team you are on. Your shorts and your socks are to match your jersey. The goalie doesn't have to wear the same colors. The is supposed to stand out. The players cannot wear anything dangerous.

When your in the game the cleats are rubber. There is no rule to what brand of cleat you have as long as they are rubber. Nike to puma makes cleats, but there are a lot more different brands.
