A chest pass is the most used pass in basketball today. A chest pass is a two handed pass that travels in a straight line to another player. It is also the quickest pass used in basketball today. To throw a chest pass first, grip the ball with both of your hands. Your hands should be spread apart, with your thumbs almost touching one another. Then, take a step towards the other player as you push the ball out of your hands. |

A baseball pass is a pass used usually when you want to throw the ball a long distance. Hold the basketball in your hand, almost near the back of your ear. Make sure that the ball is secure in the palm of your hand, and step forward releasing the ball. |

A hand off is where you hand the ball off to a teammate. There are two ways that you can perform a hand-off pass. One of these ways is to hold the basketball out, and let you teammate take it as he passes you. On some basketball team players don't pass the ball to the other player unless the two players make eye contact. |
Make sure that you don't pass the ball into a crowd of players. If you try to, most likely an other player from the other team will get the ball. Sometimes it is tempting to give the ball to your best player, but just make sure that he is open. |

Try to use your head to make the defender think that you are going to take a shot, but you are really going to pass the ball to a teammate. Naturally when a player takes a shot their head tilts upward. So, before you make your pass tilt your head upward, then make a low bounce pass. |

If it is hard for you to get away from another defender for you to make a good bounce pass, then try to make a fake pass. Faking is when your defender thinks you are going to do something, but you really arn't going to do anything. |

From a coaches point of view, most coaches are looking for quickness. They say that you can do so many things with quicknss. Also, many coaches are looking for a dedicated player. |
