Toy Fox Terriers ( also known as TFTs) were developed in the early 1900's in the United States. They were made by crossing Smooth Fox Terriers with other breeds such as Chihuahuas, Toy Manchester Terriers, and Miniature Pinschers. |
|
These toy dogs can get to be anywhere from eight and one half inches high to eleven and one half inches high. Toy Fox Terriers weigh at least three pounds and can get up to seven pounds. TFTs coats can be tri colored, (meaning that their hair is white, black, and tan), they can be just white and tan, or just white and black. Their head is usually tan, chocolate, or black. It is very rare to have a Toy Fox Terrier that is all white. Toy Fox Terriers have very muscular bodies with short erect tails. TFTs have generally long muzzles and have erect large triangular ears. |

As with most toy dogs, Toy Fox Terriers should not be keep with very young children because they are very fragile and should be handled carefully. They are great with older children though and make great family pets. With a loyal and smart personality, these dogs are very nice and loving. TFTs are very energetic and love attention and to play. |
