Feeding

You should feed your Toy Fox Terrier twice daily with a half a cup of dog food each time. (If you prefer dry dog food, "Eukanuba Small Breed" dog food is suggested.) Moisten food slightly with fresh water. Remember puppies need twice as many calories as adult dogs and should be given a puppy formula dog food. Always make sure your dog has fresh water at all times. After your dog drinks a lot, you should take it out to go "potty".

Grooming

Since Toy Fox Terriers have short hair, they never need a hair cut, but in order for their coat to look clean and healthy, you should comb it weekly. These dogs should get at least two baths a year. When bathing, use a mild shampoo. Long nails cause scratches, so their nails should be trimmed monthly also. If you have trouble trimming your dog's nails, take them to a dog groomer to get them trimmed.

Exercise

In order for your dog to be healthy, it should get adequate amounts of exercise daily. A walk two times daily, for fifteen minutes each time is suggested. Other activities of exercise include just playing catch and running about outside.

Rest

Adult TFTs eventually find a "favorite" spot to sleep, such as a bed or a couch. A Toy Fox Terrier not yet housebroken should sleep in a crate with blankets or any other type of dog "bed".  Also, jumping off from a high surface like a bed can be dangerous for such a small dog because they have brittle bones. It is good to wait until a dog is old enough to jump before letting them sleep in a high areas.
