Sarah Michelle Gellar was born on April 14,1977 in New York City. At the age of 4 she was discovered by an agent in a restaurant. She was soon cast in her first role, An Invasion of Privacy. Her second big show break was a Burger King commercial in 1982. However she was sued by McDonalds because she said that their burgers were stingy. It didn't affect her career so she continued starring in over 30 more Burger King commercials. Sarah then joined the Screen Actors Guild which is where she added Michelle (her middle name) to her name because there was another Sarah Gellar. Sarah continued to act in movies and TV with small roles. At the age of 12 she attended an exclusive private school and then switched to another private school which she hated. She yet still did well in acting. Sarah switched schools again and went to New York City's Professional Children's School. In 1992 at the age of 15 she starred in a show called Swan's Crossing. Then Sarah obtained a role in All My Children. From these shows she won and was nominated for many awards. Soon after these shows she starred as Buffy in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This show became a big hit and has a been on for many years. She has also been in major films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistibe, Scooby-Doo, and Scream 2. Over the years she has also been in many talk shows and award shows. Sarah is currently married to Freddie Prinze Jr. and lives in Los Angeles, California. She will continue to be on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and other films. She is currently working on starring in a live action version of the cartoon series Scooby-Doo.
