Martin Lawrence had a hard time pursuing his career because of borderline behavior. The lifestyle took its tall, but now Lawrence is finally emerging as a comedic presence being taken serious in Hollywood. Martin got his first break on Ed McMahon's Star Search. Lawrence's NC-17 act caught the attention of producers putting a new comedy show Def Comedy Jam. Lawrence's greatest claim to fame was Martin. The show won a NAACP. During the years Martin continued to do stand up during his sitcom years and working on his film career. He had a bonafide hit with Bad Boys. Martin later got married to Patricia Southall in 1995 and had a daughter. After Martin went off air, Lawrence had been scandle free. In 1999 Martin had a heatstroke and was in a coma, but he recovered. Martin Lawrence will continue his career in films like Blue Streak and Big Mama's House. |
