Skate Parks

There are many things people know about skate parks, but some knowledge is very different.  There are many different times of skate parks.
Skate parks were first built in the 1970's.  They were built on the idea that skaters had a hard time finding places to practice their sport.  it was also a much safer place to skateboard.
Other places that people could practice skating was in their own backyards pools.  But only certain people could skate backyard pools because it was on private property.
The worlds first skate park was opened in Port Orange, Florida in 1976.  That skate park was called "Skateboarding City".  A week later another skate park was built in Carlsbad California called "Carlsbad Park".
After this happened skaters became very popular to skate parks.  After this happened skate parks started to be built all over North American cities.  Other countries started to build skate parks such as Japan, Australia, and Europe.
Every single skate park is different but all of them share a common element.  they are share elements such as ramps, stairs, rails, benches, and bowls.
Half pipes are the main thing in most skate parks.  a half pipe is like the letter "U".  They are usually between 8 and 12 feet.
