Forbes Field was one of the Pirates first stadiums. It was opened on June 30, 1909 and was demolished on July 28, 1971. Forbes Field costed around $1 million and had a seating capacity of 35,000. Also,  the surface of the field was grass.

Three Rivers Stadium was the Pirates next stadium, after Forbes Field. It opened on July 16, 1970 and was demolished on February 11, 2001. Three Rivers Stadium costed $55 million and had a seating capacity of 45,000. The field surface was astroturf, which covered 128,226 square ft.

Pictured to the right and below, are pictures of PNC Park. It is the Pirates current stadium. PNC Park's construction started on April 14,1999. The size of the entire stadium is 970,000 square feet, with a seating capacity of 38,365. The field surface is 3.1 acres of natural grass. Also, PNC Park costed $216 million.
