The majority of people who ride atv's and just do it for the fun, ride recreation.  Just about anyone can ride for fun just because they like it.  This is the kind of riding you will be doing if you want to see another part of nature that you have never seen before.
Underbody protection is very important when your in the woods riding your atv.  There are many vital parts on the bottom of your quad that you have to protect from rocks or anything like that.  First of all your rear swing arm is the most important because you have a sprocket and a brake disc there.  If those were hit by anything they could be bent and won't be able to be used again.  After that your body skid plate is the 2nd most important because of an oil screw.  If that was broken off, all of your oil would leak out and your motor would blow up.  After you get those skid plates everything else is optional because there are no vital parts anywhere on the bottom of the quad.

Some people are really good at riding.  As you can see here this atv rider is hydroplaning this pond.  In case you don't know what hydroplaning is, it is when you try to get as much speed as you can and you will skim across water like it was land.  Don't try this until you are very experienced at riding.
Remember when I said anybody can ride an atv.  I wasn't joking when I said that.  Here you can see a grandma is riding this quad.  When your on an atv you don't have to ride fast or slow.  You can do anything you want.
