She spun with grace and elegance and "wowed" the crowd with a huge amount of talent, at such a young age. Tara Lapinski is a very well known professional figure skater. She broke the record of Sonja Henie in 1927 by becoming the youngest World Figure Skating Champion ever at the age of 14!
Tara Lapinski stands here in a state of awe with her shining medal as she claimed the 1997 World Title. Her near perfect performance won over Michelle Kwan, of the United States, 16 at the time, and Vanessa Gusmeroli from France, who was only 18 then. Tara tells the press after winning, "I never expected to win, not this year. It was a big shock.  But I love it."
Kristi Yamaguci is another very famous professional figure skater. She is an Olympic Gold Medallist as well as a two-time World Champion and a two-time United States Champion.
Kristi has participated in the annual "Stars on Ice" Show that tours to many cities throughout the United States for a quite a few years.
Here's Kristi at the 1989 Nationals where she was able to take home two medals, a gold medal in pairs and a silver medal in singles. Kristi Yamaguci was the first person in more than thirty years to take home two medals at the same Nationals competition. Skating to her, "isn't whether she wins or looses, she just wants to make the audience smile."
Showing her dramatic style and presence, Katarina Witt amazes the audience. She came to the '88 Olympics as the defending gold medal champion. She impresses judges with her dramatic impression of the music, instead of  tackling difficult maneuvers.
Katarina enjoys her latest moment at the last Winter Olympics. She's been quite busy, going to the "Stars on Ice" tour to the Olympics and back to the tour, but she's managed to have fun and take in the great sights.
Not only is she the only living two-time Olympic Champion singles figure skater, but she has won the Worlds Competition four times and she's a six-time European Champion. Katarina has truly dominated her sport, winning many titles and the hearts of fans along the way.
