Ever since tom savini was a boy, he had an interest in special effects make up.  "While other kids were out playing baseball, I was in my room screwing up my face," he once quoted.  When he was younger he couldn't even draw a stick-figure until he spent time researching the human anatomy.
		He has gotten the most influence from his days in Vietnam.  His job was to photograph tanks, helicopters, and also bodies.
