Within Horseback
riding there are many different ways that you can ride.
One of the disciplines is show
jumping. This relatively new sport now has riders compete over a course of
jumps in an arena. In this sport speed and accuracy are the things that
are judged. |

Another one of
these disciplines is eventing. This sport, which is sometimes called
"combined training" is designed to test a horse's speed,
endurance, stamina, and obedience under pressure.

The
third discipline that I will cover is dressage. Dressage is often described as having your horse
dance. It requires an extreme amount of control, fitness, and flexibility.
It basically is the art of training horses to perform artistic movements
in an completely balanced and disciplined manner.

The
final discipline that I will cover is endurance riding. Endurance is the
fastest growing equestrian sport, and also the most strenuous. In
Endurance riding, a competitor must ride their horse anywhere from 50-100
miles in one day, while still keeping your horse healthy. |
