This breed of cat are known in the United Kingdom as Color Pointed Longhairs.  They were developed in the 1920s for a scientific study.  The color on the tips of their fur is because of the "Himalayan" gene.  This gene can be seen in other animals, like rabbits.  There are many types of this breed, including the Cream Point, Lilac Point, Chocolate Point, Blue Point, and Seal Point.  All these cats have short, bushy tails and are named according to the color on the tips of their fur.  For example, the Seal Point has the deep brown color of a seal on its tips.  These cats have long, thick, soft fur that has to be groomed often, just like other Persian cats.
