| Travis
started playing for the band during the mini-tour at the Palladium, after
Scott left for awhile. He learned all the needed songs in only 45 minutes.
Mark and Tom were impressed.
"The hardest part for me was that I wasn't too familiar with their first album. So it was challenging, but fun. Filling in on those shows was definitely fun. I had a good time." After Mark and Tom learned that Scott was moving away to do other things, they turned to Travis. He became an official member of Blink 182 in the summer of 1998. "I had been a fan of Blink 182 for a few years. I though Mark and Tom were super funny. When they asked me to join the band, I was excited. It was an opportunity. Being asked to play in the band, it was good."

| While
Travis can play any genre of music on his drums, punk has always been his
favorite. He was grateful to be a part of Blink 182. His mother had died
when he was in high school, and she told him to always follow his music
ability and see where it took him.
One of Travis's best memories was doing the music video for "All the Small Things". "I don't really dance, and they made me do some pretty idiotic things in that video. I'm kinda shy when it comes to stuff like that, so it was kinda hard for me. But looking back on it, I love the video." Travis now offers drum lessons, and will soon be doing Guitar Center drum clinics. He is very satisfied with Blink 182 now. "I'm happy with how things are going in the band. I really like that the band is getting into more music, more than just what we were listening to a few years ago. I want to see the band keep growing that way. I like that." |
