Britney was born on December 2, 1981. She was born in Kentwood, Louisiana.
Britney started dancing before she started singing. When she was 3 years old, her dad owned a gym. She took dance lessons there.
When Britney was 8 years old, she tried out for the Mickey Mouse Club. She was too young to be on the show, but the producer helped her get into a New York City performing arts school, where she spent the next 3 years studying dance and music. When she turned 11, she was old enough to be on the Mickey Mouse Club, which she was on for 2 years.
When Britney was 15, she signed a recording contract with Jive Records. Her first C.D. was titled "Baby One More Time".
Along with her schedule and the release of her successful 2X Platinum home video "Time Out With Britney Spears" in late 1999, Britney and her mother have written a book entitled Heart To Heart. As if that weren’t enough, Britney has also created the Britney Spears Foundation in conjunction with the Giving Back Fund.
Today Britney is only 21 years old, but enjoyed much success. Her biggest success was "Baby One More Time" which sold 6,000,000 copies in 1999. Britney still continues to succeed today.
