This is the tuning page. I will cover different parts used in car tuning such as nitrous oxide (commonly referred to as "N.O.S."), turbochargers, body kits, and other performance and good looking parts.
Nitrous Oxide (AKA N.O.S.)
Nitrous Oxide is extremely dangerous to you and your car. It can melt your pistons, and ruin your engine block. Most people with nitrous oxide do not understand how to use it. |
Steroids for your car. Many people know this
stuff as N.O.S. but that is a company, Nitrous Oxide Systems. Its real
name is NO2, or nitrous oxide. I am going to briefly explain how it
works.
The more air you get into the combustion chambers in your car, the more power it puts out, and when you hit the nitrous switch, it releases nitrous through a line in your car and it goes out a valve into the combustion chamber. When nitrous reaches the heat in the chamber, it breaks into Nitrogen and Oxygen, meaning, it adds 2 parts oxygen to your chamber. And as I said before, the more oxygen, the more power.
Nitrous kits such as this one cost about $500 an add an extra 50-75 horsepower. Some kits range up to over $1000 and add an extra 500 hp at the flick of a switch |
Turbochargers
That is a twin turbo setup. A turbocharger compresses the air coming through the air intake, and as I said before, the more air you have in your combustion chamber, the more power you have. Turbo's allow you to get maximum power and provide great acceleration. In a 1-turbo setup, the turbo spins all the time, but in a twin turbo setup, 1 spins all the time and the second turns on when you want it to so it can compress the air more. |
Air Intakes
These are air intake filters. I will
briefly explain each one. These filter the air coming into your motor,
making sure it is clean.
A-Cold Air Intakes go down through your engine bay so they are away from heat. The filter is near the bottom so it sucks in cold air. Since cold air is less dense than hot air, it allows for more oxygen and better power. B-CAC Intakes are normal engine intakes. They provide little horsepower because they are near the heat of the engine. C-Cold Air Extensions are pieces that you can connect to your CAC intake. They are simply like a 2-piece cold air intake. |
Body kits
Body kits are fiberglass and polyurethane pieces that add a little "zing" to your car. You simply attach them to your fenders and side skirts and your car is changed. Some body kits do little for your car while others change it into an unidentifiable vehicle. |
"Ice"
A crayon box!? No! This setup is in a custom box. |
| These are some examples of entertainment systems. The one above features 3 LCD flat screen monitors, 3 amps, and a multitude of speakers. The one above right is a custom speaker enclosure made to look like a crayon box. (Each crayon is actually a speaker or subwoofer.) The pictures to the right are (in order from left, top right, bottom right) LCD monitor with DVD/CDRW player, Pioneer Amplifier, and Pioneer Speaker. |
