Cameron Diaz was born on August 30, 1972 in San Diego, where she also grew up. She has a sister named Chimene, who has one child. The blonde hair, blue eyes actress went to Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Her cat is named Little Man.
Some of Cameron's hobbies are playing with her cat, auto racing, and listening to heavy metal music. One of her favorite movies is Monty Python. At the age of 16, she landed a contract with a modeling agency. She then left her California home and toured the world. She went to places like Australia, Morocco, Japan, Paris, and Mexico.
After she turned 21, she returned back home. With only modeling experience, she auditioned for a small part in The Mask, After 12 call backs, she ended up with one of the lead roles in the movie.
After filming The Mask, Cameron Diaz went to train for the movie Mortal Combat. After injuring her wrist, she had to quit the job. Instead of looking for movie big-screen movies to star in, she went on a different path. Cameron returned to high-paying modeling and also did some lower-paying independent films.
When Cameron Diaz was younger, she was the head-banging party kid. She told a reporter, "I was a tough kid with the jeans, the concert shirt with the flannel over it, the comb in the back pocket." She was a tomboy, acting as the son her father never had.
After The Mask, Cameron had many opportunities for films. She was in The Last Supper in 1995 and in 1996, she starred in She's the One, Feeling Minnesota, and Head Above Water. The next few years, she was in movies such as My Best Friend's Wedding, There's Something About Mary, and Being John Malkovich.
Cameron has been in over 20 movies. Her most recent and well-known films are Charlie's Angels, Shrek, Vanilla Sky, Gangs of New York, and The Sweetest Thing. The sequel to the first movie, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle is due out in theatres this summer.
