Summary
The movie Mobile Suit Char's Counterattack starts out with a battle between the Earth Federation Special Force's Londo Bell Unit and Char Aznable's Neo Zeon Fleet. They are fighting near 5th Luna, a meteorite that Char is trying to drop on Lhasa, Tibet: the HQ of E.F.S.F. and the capital of Tibet. Sadly, Char succeeds in dropping 5th on Lhasa, killing everyone in the city. Now, Char wants to drop another asteroid on Earth, Axis, a much bigger asteroid that if dropped on Earth, would cause a "nuclear winter".
Later, Char has already begun dropping Axis on Earth, in the Nu Gundam, Amuro goes to fight Char one last time. He defeats Char, but Axis is still dropping onto Earth, so Amuro flies the Nu Gundam under the meteor and puts the boosters on the Nu Gundam on full blast. Eventually he is able to push Axis away from Earth.
I left some stuff out so I wouldn't spoil the story, so if you want to find out what happens you're going to have to see the movie.
