This is the Defensive Player of the
Year winner Derrick Brooks. Derrick is the best in the business and the
main reason Tampa Bay won it all. He is a talented Linebacker who does it
all and is always around the ball making tackles. Even though he only had
one sack, he was constantly making tackles. He also had 5 interceptions
for 218 yards and took 3 back for touchdowns. Brooks is the best and will
stay the best for many years. |

Michael Strahan now holds the league's
sack record for sacks in a season with 22.5 sacks. This year he only had
11 sacks but still had 71 tackles. This is tops among defensive lineman.
He is usually double-teamed now which is for the decline in sacks. Strahan
creates a lot of havoc in the backfield. He is a talented pass-rusher,
who, I think is making it to the Hall of Fame when he retires/ |

Brian Urlacher is one of the top
Middle Linebackers in the NFL. This year he is heading to his third
consecutive Pro Bowl. He had 108 tackles, setting a franchise record for
tackles in a season. He also had 4.5 sacks and 1 interception. Brian is
always around the ball and making tackles. He is a great Middle Linebacker
and he could be on of the best ever, |

This is Ray Lewis and is the best MLB
in the NFL. He was the reason Baltimore won the Super Bowl in 2000. Ray
always gets over 100 tackles except this year when he had some injuries.
In his first 3 games Ray had 32 tackles. Then his injury only allowed him
to play 2 more games and end the season with 41 tackles. Ray is the best
and will stay it until he retires. |

Charles Woodson is probably the best
cover corner in the league when healthy. Nobody can shake Woodson when
it's man to man coverage. This year he had some injuries and was limited
to 8 games. He still had one interception and now has 12 in his career. He
also had 31 tackles and 4 forced fumbles. He is a great corner and will
be. He is very quick and makes big plays, that's what makes him
special. |

Julius Peppers has the speed, size,
and strength to be on of the NFL's greats. In only 12 games this year he
had 30 tackles, 12 sacks, and one interception. He is going to be one of
the top defensive lineman next year. He is so quick he can get to the
quarterback every play. He alone makes the Panthers a good defense. |

Kendrell Bell is one of the best up
and coming MLB in the game. Kendrell has the explosive speed and great
tackling ability to make him great. He is always around the ball and
making confusion for the offense. This year he was plagued by ankle
injuries all year. He only played 12 games and was never up to full speed.
This year he had 38 tackles and 4 sacks. He is a great player and the fans
of Pittsburgh are sure to be happy they have a player like Kendrell Bell. |
