The Beatles are one of the best known groups in the history of music. Even though they are from Europe, they changed the way America played and listened to music.
The four members of the Beatles were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and last but not least George Harrison. They were so popular they had candy named after them.
The Beatles came to America in 1964 and released a film, "A Hard Day's Night" that same year. In 1965, they put out another movie entitled "Help".
The band members got sick of hysterical audiences and stopped touring. They had an official split in 1970 and the members started their solo careers.
In 1980, John Lennon was murdered in New York City. In 2002, George Harrison died of cancer. Two of the four original band members are alive and still popular with music careers of their own.
