Freestyle skiing is one of the least common in world wide ski events but most common in just regular skiing for fun. Freestyle is when the skier does whatever they could possibly want.

The most common thing to do in freestyle is the art of going off the jump. There are actually two main kinds of jumps, trail jumps and jumps that were made for big moves. The big jumps are normally found in a snowboard park even though it is more common to perform while on skis.
When a person goes off of a trail bump there are not normally very many different jumps that they can do. The normal thing to do on a trail jump is the... trail-jump . When a skier aproches the jump they get into a slight tuck so that they can gain speed and then when they reach the top of the jump they push off of it with their legs. As soon as the skier s in the air they have many options but the normal thing to do is to bring their knees up to their chest and then when they land they put their legs back down quick and pad the jump with the newly straightened legs.

If the skier were to get more air or went off a larger jump (in which case they get more air) they could try a more difficult move like one of the following.
Once skiers become comfortable with the standard trail jump, they move onto more difficult jumps. one of these is the spread eagle. Skiers approach this maneuver in the normal manner, with their knees bent. They then pop off of the jump and keep their hips facing forward. The skier then spreads their legs and arms, as if in a jumping jack. When they are nearing the ground they go back into their normal positions.

The twister is a manuver where the skiers' upper body faces one way while the lower body faces another. Once in the air the skier keeps their upper body facing forward. They then press their legs tightly together with their knees locked. The skier rotates their skis to one side, then quickly bring their skis back forward. Depending on how long the person is in the air, the skier can make the skis go back and forth more than once, if desired.
The daffy is when a skier is in the air and they do a split. The body always faces forward. They extend one leg forward with the ski tip perpendicular to the ground. At the same time they extend the other foot back and point the tip towards the ground. to keep their balance they put their arms out to the side.

The helicopter is one of the most dramatic and complex aerial moves or stunts. the upright skier literally rotates three-hundred-sixty degrees in the air while their skis remain flat.
