Most moto's are in the classes of 65, 85, 125, 250, and 500cc two-stroke dirt bikes but 125 and 250cc classes are most common and 500cc classes are becoming more and more rare. |

As of now in the sport of motocross, there are some very well know names. Some of the riders in the 250cc class are Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, Tim Ferry, Jeremy McGrath (though he has recently retired), and Travis Pastrana (who also rides in freestyle competitions). |

Some of the biggest names in the 125cc class of motocross right now are James Stewart, Grant Langstan, Branden Jesseman, Travis Preston, and Erza Lusk. |
