About Mount St. Helens

Mount St. Helens blew it's top on May 18, 1980. It left excessive damage, and heart broken lives. It can not be explained in words, but I can tell you it was tragic.

At Mount St. Helens we have a chance to view the workings of nature: Where a mountain has been torn apart and is rebuilding right before our eyes. Where plants and animals can flourish in an environment that first appeared to de a lifeless moonscape.

When the mountain erupted, the blast was so powerful that it blew off its left side.  All that came out was hot ash.
