Defensive Players and Stats

Joey Porter- is a 2 time Pro Bowler and one of the best linebackers in the  league. JP also does his famous kick when ever he gets a sack, but one of the best traits he has is being a leader when he is out on the field. His final stats for the regular season were 9 sacks, 4 int. 153 yards and 89 tackles.
Kendrell Bell-is one of the best players ever to emerge from college. He had a great year as a rookie getting defensive rookie of the year honors, and a trip to the Pro Bowl. This year was a little different. Bell was out with injuries most of the season. His final stats for the regular season were 50 total tackles.
Jason Gildon-is the ultimate leader on this Pittsburgh Steeler defensive squad. He has been in the NFL for 8 years and attended college at Okalahoma State. He is an alternate for the 2002 Pro Bowl. His final stats for the regular season were 67 tackles and 3 forced fumbles.
Casey Hampton- is the big man in the middle of the defensive line. He plays nose tackle and plays a big role of clogging up the middle for the Steelers defense. He was the Steelers first round draft choice in 2001 at 19th overall and went to the university of Texas. His final stats for the regular season were 41 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 sacks.
Dewayne Washington- is the Steelers best cornerback on the team. Dewayne made a huge play for the Steelers defense in week 17 by intercepting a pass in the fourth quarter off of Jeff Blake of the Baltimore Ravens. If the receiver would have caught the ball the Steelers would have lost and would have gotten a lower seed in the playoffs. His final stats for the regular season were 54 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 3 interceptions.
