In this part of my links I would like to include some sports that are played but, I did not make a link for each sport because of this. The first sport I would like to mention is golf. It was started many years ago. The Scottish supposedly invented the sport. There are usually 18 holes on a pro golf course. The goal of the game is to get the ball in the hole as quickly as you can. You get a club to do this. It is a long stick with a club at the end. The ball you are trying to hit is really small. There are also lots of golf terms like fore, birdie, and a hole in 1. The next sport I would like to mention deals with an selection I did earlier but, did not see fit to include in that selection. It is women's basketball. It came to be about 20 years ago. I do not like the idea of women playing basketball at pro levels. There really isn't much to say cause I mention it earlier. Rock climbing is also a very interesting sport. It is relatively new. These thrill junkies go all over the world from china to brazil. Another sport originated from it called spelunking. It is the same idea only going down instead of up. For the longest time skateboarding has been popular but, it is at its height. There are hundreds of skate parks around the world. I also included biking because in biking you are pushed to your limits, especially when you do the tour de France. That is what Armstrong did. He also had cancer which is very amazing. |
