Baseball has been around for a long time. It was started shortly after the civil war. It was first created by a man in the army. The soldiers played this game a lot. Then in the 1900's they started making it a national sport. Many great ball players of the time made their fortunes in. They sport only got commercialized around the 1910's. The best team then and now would have to be the New York Yanks. Pittsburgh was one of the first towns to have a Negro league that people watched. They were called the Pittsburgh Crawford's. In the 1940's there was a brief pause due to the war. The n in the 1950's it was revived and new faces broke out such as Mantle, The Babe, and lots more. Their were even songs written about the game. A couple of these songs are Take Me Out to the Ballgame and The Mickey Mantle Song. People loved the sport and its atmosphere so much it is still played to this day. Their are usually 9 players on a pro field at a time. The pitcher pitches the ball and the batter attempts to hit the ball but, if the batter miss the ball three times he is out. A fair batting ratio is .44. That means every time you get up to bat you'll hit the ball 4/10 times. Baseball is a great game. |
