History of the Band

Originally hailed from Virgina, Dave Matthews formed on their college campus and immediately began a cross-country touring. The independent release of Remember Two Things gave them instant occult following in their native Virgina. That 1992 release caught the attention of RCA records. Signed in 1993, they went in to record the major debut release Under The Table And Dreaming. By early 1995 it had sold well over a million copies with the singles "Jimi Thing" and "What Would You Say". The 1996 follow-up, Crash debuted on the charts at number two and quickly went platinum. Throughout 1996, the group toured behind Crash, sending it to double platinum status. Surprisingly they released an official double-disc live album Live at Red Rocks 8-15-95, in the fall of 1997 in order to deter bootlegging. Amazingly it debuted at number three on the charts and sold a million copies within the first five months of its release. By April of 1998 they released Before These Crowded Streets. Quickly another live album hit the stores entitled Listener Supported. It was clear that the DMB would pave the way to another successful studio album. Released February 2001, Everyday immediately charted high with the aid of the first single, "I Did It" and it's summer follow-up, "The Space Between". In early June, 2002, Dave released yet another album, Busted Stuff. After a successful sold out summer tour, DMB still continues to bring us their amazing music today.
