Avril Lavigne is a punk rocker with style. The 17 year old skater girl does whatever she wants whenever she wants. At age two she decided that she wanted to be a singer. At age 10, Avril had her first church solo. People were amazed at her voice. When she turned 12 she taught herself how to play the guitar on her dad's six string. High school wasn't a priority, so whenever she got mad or upset she went skateboarding or played her guitar. |

After the president and Ceo of Arista records heard her sing. She got a record deal almost immediately after she performed. So she dropped out of school and moved to New York City with her brother Matt. |
| After she started recording the big problems started. Arista wanted her to sing songs like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. But Avril wanted to sing the songs that she wrote. In the end she obviously got her way. |
