Country Music has changed a lot in the the last 10 years. Its not just old people singing about their farms and nature with there guitars, it know has all kinds of different topics and lots of different music. Country is know a mix of pop, rock, and the old country. Country music is more popular than  it has ever been.

Without a doubt, Shania Twain is the most visible woman in country music.  Although it looks as if Faith Hill is gearing up to give her a run for the money, as things stand now, Shania dominates when it comes to sales and media coverage.  She's won nearly every award country music has to offer and has been on the cover of everything from Rolling Stone to Esquire.  Still. her success was accompanied by a downside that has now become more of a story than her music.

Garth Brooks became the biggest-selling country album of the '80s, selling 9 million units over the next decade.  From the beginning, Garth worked with Allen Reynolds, who had come to Nashville with Sun Records' Jack Clement.  Reynolds had done some great work with Don Williams, Crystal Gayle, and Kathy Mattea.  But he was by no means the producer du jour in Music City.  He was a laid-back person who seemed more intent on finding the right project than on padding his banc account.  In Reynolds, Brooks found a safe home-a mentor who would be a major factor in keeping the trappings of stardom from consuming him.
