Famous MLB Players

Roberto Clemente was an excellent baseball player. Players called him "El Bazooka", because of his fast arm. His number was #21. He chose number 21 because in his name (Roberto Clemente Walker), all together there were 21 letters. Clemente played for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1955 to 1972. He won 12 gold gloves, hit .317, and had over 3,000 hits. Sadly at age 38 he was killed in a terrible plane crash while delivering emergency supplies to Nicaraguan earth quake victims on December 31,1972
This is a picture of Hank Aaron. On April 4th, 1974 Hank Aaron tied with Babe Ruth's record of 714 homeruns. Four days later in Atlanta he slugged a fast ball pitched by Al Downing. He had hit 715 and beat Babe Ruth's record.
This is a picture of Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth was born George Herman Ruth. Little did we know when he was born he was going to be one of the best baseball players of all time. One story says he was called George until his first professional game when he was being introduced. A veteran teammate said "here comes Jack (the coach) with his newest babe ". From that day on he was called Babe Ruth by his teammates, and then it spread to everyone calling him "Babe Ruth". Babe Ruth entered the majors in 1914 as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. To this day he is still considered the greatest home run hitter of all time with 714 homeruns.
