This part of my web page is on hockey. Here you can look at hockey pictures and read a little bit about the sport. In hockey five players are on the ice and one goalie for each team. Hockey is played at a national level for men. It's called the National Hockey League (NHL).
Hockey is also played in the Olympics for men and women. In hockey there are play-offs at the end of the season. Teams play other teams in a series of seven games. The team who wins four games first wins the series and the rest of the games are not played. Some series, however, all seven games are played. Eventually two teams are left and play in a championship game. The winner wins the Stanley Cup. The team who receives it normally skates a victory lap while carrying the Stanley Cup.
Mario Lemieux is a great player for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is the owner and is also a player. He went in retirement once and bought the Penguins then. Later on he came back to the NHL from retirement.
