The Spinner Dolphin has a slender muscular body with a long narrow beak. it is named after its spinning leaps out of the water. Its dorsal fin is tall and triangular, while its flippers are long and slender.  Their is a distinct stripe connecting the flippers to the eyes. 

The Spinner Dolphin is found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide.  They travel in the world's major oceans like the Pacific, the Indian, and the Atlantic.  The local names are Long snout, Spinner, Long-Beaked Dolphin, and Rollover.  

The scientific name for the Spinner Dolphin is the Stenella longierostris.

There are four distinct Eastern Pacific forms: the Eastern, the Whitebelly, the Costa Rican, and the Hawaiian

The Spinner Dolphin has been the target of the tuna              purse-seine fishery that uses dolphins' locations to find tuna, and the eastern spinner dolphin is considered to be one of the dolphin species most effected by this fishery.
