The Bottlenose Dolphin is a gray to gray-green or gray-black color on their back.  Their lower jaw is white along with the belly, which may be pinkish.  The Bottlenose Dolphin uses a type of camouflage known as counter shading.   This may help the dolphin conceal itself from predators and prey.  When the dolphin is seen from above the dark back of the dolphin blends with the dark ocean floor.  When the dolphin is seen from below the lighter belly blends with the bright surface area.

Their are twenty to twenty five teeth on each side of the upper jaw, and eighteen to twenty four teeth on each side of the lower jaw with a total of seventy six to ninety eight teeth.

The Bottlenose Dolphins' eyes are located on the sides of the head near the corners of the mouth.  Their ears are located just behind the eyes.

Bottlenose Dolphins are active predators and eat a wide variety of food such as fish, squids, eels, mullet, shrimp, and crustaceans.  An adult can eat approximately 4% to 5% of their body weight in food per day.

They live in temperate and tropical waters throughout the world like in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Cape Cod, Gulf of Mexico, Mediterranean Sea, and the Indian Ocean.

Bottlenose Dolphins make very good relationships with humans and are often used in dolphin shows.
