 *Soccer in the USA is not a very popular sport in earlier years. But in these past few years it has been growing dramatic with the success of the national team at the world cup. At the previous MLS cup there was an estimated 65,000 people. It was a new record for most people at a MLS match up. Many people in this country believe that someday that soccer will be the most watched and played sport in the country.
  *Since soccer in the US isn't all that popular yet it hasn't been making that much money. But the MLS got its wish when multibillionaire Philip Anschutz decided to pay for MLS's expenses. Philip loved the sport of soccer that he thought he had to do it. He owns many other teams including the Lakers and the Kings. He also owns many other industries in many fields. Since MLS is making very little money that means that Anchutz has to spend a lot of  money on it and since some of his other companies are doing bad MLS might not have their golden angel anymore.
  *Usually in the English premier league Manchester United wins most of the time but this year they are not doing so well and a new dominate force has arose. This force is known as Arsenal so far they have only lost a few games. They are so far out in front that many fans think that they have already won it. This year they broke the league record for nost games with at least one goal. It was previously held by Manchester United. They also went 30 games with out getting a lose.
  *This year the MLS cup was a real exciting one. The Galaxy won against the Revolution 1-0.With the winning goal going to Carlos Ruiz (later Carlos won the MVP). It broke a new record for attendance with over 65,000.
 

 

 * So far in the UEFA cup it is a close race to get in to the next round and here's how the leaders are shaping up.
