Avril Lavigne is new to the music business.  She has one album out called Let Go which features songs such as Complicated, Skater boy, and with you.  

Her style is punk.  She is a wild child who writes her own music. She writes what she feels and does not care what people think of her.  She loves to play the guitar and wears a lot of ties.

She is 17 years old and her hometown is Nappanee, Ontario.  She got her start singing in church, at fairs, and talent shows and contests.  She wrote all of her songs when she was sixteen and recorded them in New York and Los Angeles.
