The Steelers celebrated their first AFC Central title since 1997, even without the help of Jerome Betis. Kordell Stewart passed for a career-high 333 yards as the Steelers won their sixth divisional title in ten years under Cowher. Stewart completed 20 of his 31 passes with two touchdown passes. The Steelers totaled 476 net yards and controlled the ball for over 41 minutes. |

The Steelers held the Ravens to only 149 total yards before the Ravens' final drive, which covered 58 yards in nine plays. Kris Brown kicked a 22-yard field goal on the Steelers' first possession to give the Steelers an early 3-0 lead. After a two-yard run by Ravens QB Elvis Grbac 10 seconds into the second quarter, Brown kicked a 23-yarder to cut it to 7-6. Grbac was 20-of-38 passing for 159 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. |

Stewart then hit Plaxico Burress with a 25-yard scoring strike late in the second quarter to give the Steelers a 13-7 lead at halftime. Stewart later hit WR Bobby Shaw with a 90-yard strike in the fourth quarter to give the Steelers a 19-7 lead. Grbac then hit WR Quadry Ismail with a 14-yard pass, cutting the Steeler lead to 19-14. With 3:05 left, FB Dan Krieder plunged in from four yards out to give Steelers some room with a 26-14 lead. |

The Lions made a big mistake by continually putting the ball in Kordell Stewart's hands, but that was mostly because they couldn't keep it in Lions QB Mike McMahon's hands. In the first 18 minutes, McMahon threw an interception and fumbled twice. The mistakes led to two touchdowns and a 27-7 Steelers lead. |

Stewart was 17-of-26 for 226 yards with three touchdowns. He threw touchdowns of 4 yards to TE Matt Cushing, 5 yards to WR Hines Ward, and 19 yards to WR Plaxico Burress. He also scrambled for a two-yard touchdown in the first quarter. |

Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala rumbled for 126 yards. On the third play of the game, McMahon slipped on the grass and fumbled, which Jason Gildon took 27 yards for a score 27 seconds into the game. McMahon came back with a 10-yard touchdown pass to TE David Sloan. On the Steelers' next drive, Kordell Stewart ended a 77-yard drive with the touchdown pass to Cushing that put the Steelers up 14-7. |

After McMahon's second fumble, the Steelers only had to go 15 yards to score again on Stewart's two-yard touchdown run. The interception didn't result in any points as Kris Brown hooked a 48-yarder wide left. It was his first of two misses on the day and his 14th of the season. Backup QB Tommy Maddox had a 5-yard touchdown run after replacing Stewart in the fourth quarter. |

A wild comeback by the Bengals ended in the Steelers' third loss after a 31-yard field goal in overtime by Bengals K Neil Rackers. Bengals QB Jon Kitna threw two touchdowns in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Kitna completed 35 of his 68 passes to throw for 411 yards. |

Kordell Stewart threw two touchdown passes to Plaxico Burress and another to Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala that put the Steelers ahead 23-10. A 66-yard fumble return by Bengals LB Brian Simmons on a blocked field goal attempt led to the Bengals' first touchdown. Kitna threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Ron Dugans to make it 23-17. After the Bengals recovered the onside kick, Kitna threw another touchdown to WR Danny Farmer tied it at 23, but Rackers missed the extra point. |

In overtime, after a Pittsburgh punt, the Browns found themselves pinned on their own 1-yard line. Kitna completed four passes in a row, and FB Brandon Bennett had a 36-yard run that set up the winning kick with 4:06 left. |

The Steelers sacked Tim Couch four times and rolled up 376 yards of total offense. The Browns took the lead first on a three-yard run by RB Jamel White after a Kordell Stewart interception. The defense played especially well, allowing only 68 yards rushing and 173 total yards. The Steelers came back with a 17-yard run by RB Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala. He had 17 carries for 98 yards. Troy Edwards carried a fumble forced by Lenzie Jackson and carried it 32-yards for the go-ahead touchdown. |

Backup QB Tommy Maddox then threw a 40-yard pass to WR Bobby Shaw to put the Steelers up 21-7. Fourth-string tailback R.J. Bowers rushed for a 21-yard touchdown to seal it for the Steelers. He had 67 yards rushing in the game. WR Plaxico Burress and WR Hines Ward became the first pair of receivers in Pittsburgh history to gain 1,000 yards receiving in the same season. |
