Avril was born and
raised in Napanee, Ontario, Canada with her stay at home mom, Judy and her
dad, phone repair man, John. As a
kid growing up, Avril loved playing sport with the guys. She played
baseball in the spring and summer and hockey in the winter. |
| Avril has always
loved to sing. For as long as she could remember, Avril has wanted
to perform. She grew up singing country songs, mostly Dixie Chicks, in church and at local
fairs and talent shows. |

In
eleventh grade, Avril couldn't wait any longer to kick off her singing
career, so she dropped out of high school. on a trip to New York
City, Avril was finally dicovered by Antonio "LA" Reid. At
16, she moved to Manhatten and started working on her debut CD. |
| That
didn't work out as smoothly as she would have liked it to. They were
talking about having people write for her,but Avril wouldn't have.
She believed she needed to write for herself for people to see the real
her. So, she flipped coasts and moved to Los Angeles where she
finally found the producer that was right for her. he let her do her
own thing and that's how she made this awsome debut CD. |
