| The White Stripe's "Fell in Love With a Girl" is one of the most basic modern rock songs that you will find anywhere. The song consists of only six relatively familiar chords. It requires standard tuning, no mysterious effect pedals or stompboxes, and no bass player. As far as your EQ (equalization) goes, you should have heavy bass with light mid and treble. Unlike other rock songs, this should be played in neck position instead of bridge position. For those of you who don't know what neck and bridge position are, neck is first pickup and bridge is back pickup. The chord pattern goes B-A-D-E5 and repeats throughout the song as pictured below. Light distortion and heavy reverb (preferably "Hall" or "Spring") are used throughout. |
